Hot Navy Guys

Feb. 4th, 2006 | 11:33 pm
mood: lonelylonely
music: The Planets-Holst

Last night (Friday) was the Navy Ball, on a boat...The Spirit of Philadelphia. Great fun. I got to dress up in the awesome dress leslie picked out for me (good choice by the way, lola) and go in a cab with two hot navy guys. I met a whole bunch of people, but i only remember the names and faces of three of them. Haha, and I got to be introduced to the XO person, which was funny...'coz everyone called him sir, and shook hands with his date/fiancee while saying somthing like "Midshipman 4th Class Stariowski, nice to meet you." (Probably slaughtered the spelling of that guys name!) Everyone called him Star Wars, and he told me that he was excited because George Lucas had the same birthday as him.

Yeah, so there was a "sword arch" for all the graduating seniors to walk under, and they said grace and stuff before we ate, and it was all very formal. They played the Navy/Marine anthem, and you could tell who was in the Navy 'coz they stood at attention. Imagine a girl in a formal dress standing at attention!

After, there was dancing and stuff, and when the boat got back to Penn's Landing (We had been going up and down the Delaware River), the XO guy got off the boat, and then we were allowed to leave. We got a cab back to Drexel with this senior guy called Teich (I dunno his first name.) Mike stayed the night, which was nice, but he snores more when he's tired. At least he didn't wake me up at 5 this morning! Then we went to bruch at the dining hall. Yummy.

So, yeah, other than that I'm alone all weekend, so it probably wasn't a good idea for me to watch Silence of the Lambs. I'm a little worried now...I'm gonna go lock my suite door.

Boys...

So yeah, this one time...
this random guy...who i apparently smiled at in band, IMed me out of no-where, and asked me out. And then, three months later we've survived our first rocky patch...and i'm more in love than ever. Ooo...and we're going to a navy ball on a boat on Friday (so i get to wear a pretty dress on a freezing cold river!)
So i have a complaint to make...no one is using livejournal to tell us how ur life is going...except sometimes Jill and Divya. Now we're all at different colleges...except all you UMass folks...lj's a great way to keep in touch. TRY IT! or else.

What could be better than three midterms (Calc II, Cells & Genetics, Chem II), one research paper, and the hard math part of a bio project...all within 3 days!!! I'm going to explode. On the plus side, Mike and I are almost back to normal since lord knows what happened earlier this week. So yeah, life is crazy.

School Walls

Jan. 17th, 2006 | 06:25 pm

I am seriously pissed at this poster I got for Christmas. It's a sweet poster...but it won't stay on the god-damn wall!!! I have used gallons of tape, and it refuses to stay up. It's very frustrating and not at all condusive to a good work environment!

Memoirs of a Loser!

Jan. 4th, 2006 | 05:57 pm
mood: embarrassedembarrassed

One of the most famous lines from the movie "Memoirs of a Geisha" is "A true Geisha can stop a man in his tracks with a single glance." I was thinking about this as I was walking through the mall today. So, I decided to give myself the ultimate Geisha test. I spotted a guy walking alone toward me. I locked eyes with him, and walked into the railing. Oops. I fell over, and he gave me a hand to get up, laughing to himself as I turned bright red. So, I guess I can get a man to stop in his tracks with a single eye-lock! Haha, i'm soooo embarassed.

Is it really sad that my roommates have managed to get me hooked on project runway? Oh well, it makes Wednesday night more exciting.

Matt Damon, the most amazing thing ever to come out of Boston (short of the Red Sox) has married! I'm not at all bitter. Good for him!
